Swarovski Cake Topper: Re”veil”ed

Monday, November 30th, 2009

As I always say, it’s all about the right level of contrast.  Picking one color and using a few close shades of it always comes out well.  The same rules apply to my favorite pieces of jewelry.  Think of your monogram cake topper as cake jewelry!

An autumn topper to “fall” in love with

Swarovski crystal cake toppers sparkle so much that photographers often have a hard time capturing them in a, well, flattering way.  Here is an example of how well they can come out with a professional at work!

Bat Mitzvah Cake… with glitz!

Think cake jewelry.  This cake achieved maximum sparkle without even having a topper!  The branches on the cake were crystallized and matched the look of the invitations.  Loose Swarovski stones in a coordinating color (Rose)  were also used on the cake to extend the crystal theme.  A whimsy, sparkling outcome for one lucky girl!

Another way to do Black & White

Contrast is everything! Contrasting letters works best when keeping the color set on each letter low in contrast so the letters stand out from each other.  If the colors get too busy, the effect is lost.  Nobody wants an illegible monogram cake topper.  Here, not only do the colors offset each other but the fonts do, too.   I love pairing a feminine font with a bold masculine font.
