Lorelie Carvey of  Wedding Cakes For You sat down with me for an interview.  She asked good questions that made me think and reminded me of how fortunate I am to have Toppers With Glitz in my life.  A great way to start the year!

“The Knot” vendor party (for Los Angeles and Orange County) was held at the Long Beach Aquarium on September 23, 2009.  The Knot will be doing a full layout of the party in an upcoming issue of their magazine– I can’t wait to see how it all came together!

I had a DVR set to record, a video camera in one hand, and a digital camera in the other to be sure and capture Daneris and Hector’s custom logo cake topper as their big day was covered on WE TV’s Platinum Weddings.  It aired May 24th and is scheduled to air again June 28 at 2 pm EST.  Beyond exciting!

This is to date the most intricate topper that I have done.  I wanted to post this custom piece as an example of the extent of complexity that I can achieve in a cake topper.  The more color changes and places where the metal stops/starts is what made it so challenging but I am pleased with the outcome and excited that it might get air time (more on this as I get the details).

Call me nosy but I always like to know the background story on the items I make.  From the “Gruma” website: Gruma is the worlwide leader in corn flour and tortilla production.  I will never eat another tortilla chip without thinking of this topper!

The original ideas that people come up with never cease to amaze me.  This is a custom logo made special for a Jamaican wedding.  Not even the sheer fabric can tame the brilliance of Swarovksi crystals.  The outcome is just beautiful…

The word about Toppers With Glitz is spreading!  An NBC morning show featured Toppers With Glitz on Thursday March 19th, 2009.  It aired in Las Vegas; the wedding capital of the world!

Crystallized – Swarovski Elements™ is the product brand for loose precision-cut crystal manufactured by Swarovski and The Little White Book is a collection of designers, companies, and brand name products that use these elements in their designs.  The booklet was released by Swarovski as a resource to help create a personalized crystal wedding.

The Little White Book launched in the winter issue of Elegant Bride magazine and features some of the most recognized designers in the world (Ron Ben-Israel, Colin Cowie, David Tutera, Diane von Furstenberg).  Toppers With Glitz is proud to be included and is listed under “Paper, Gifts, & Decor”.
