The denser the object, the more time in takes to complete. This was a beast! The outcome was well worth it though. Wear sunglasses if viewed in daylight. Sparkle factor is off the charts!

You don’t have to go with a monogram cake topper to get some Swarovski crystal goodness into your cake! This custom cake topper was for a couple getting married in a pumpkin patch on Halloween. How original! It was the brides idea to give ‘her’ pumpkin some lipstick: too cute.

Colors: Pumpkins - Sun, Jet, Lt Siam (lips), SFJ - Amethyst, Sun, Jet, Black Diamond

What do you do for a cake topper when the bride is a Yankees fan and the groom is a Red Sox fan? Simple, replace the figurines with the sports emblems!

Think cake jewelry. This cake achieved maximum sparkle without even having a topper! The branches on the cake were crystallized and matched the look of the invitations. Loose Swarovski stones in a coordinating color (Rose) were also used on the cake to extend the crystal theme. A whimsy, sparkling outcome for one lucky girl!

Colors: Smoked Topaz (branches), Ruby, Rose, Fuchsia (flowers)

Contrast is everything! Contrasting letters works best when keeping the color set on each letter low in contrast so the letters stand out from each other. If the colors get too busy, the effect is lost. Nobody wants an illegible monogram cake topper. Here, not only do the colors offset each other but the fonts do, too. I love pairing a feminine font with a bold masculine font.

Every couple planning their wedding strives for the unique factor; something that sets their wedding apart from the rest. While an entwined monogram is a popular choice, I think because it symbolizes the unity of two coming together as one, custom made designs are also being used along with initials to help distinguish the monogram as their own and in doing so sets a theme for the event. This is an example of just that…

Color variety and of course the right amount of contrast is critical in pulling off a topper with so many colors. Luckily Swarovski crystals come in a bunch to great options when it comes to the ivory/golds/browns palettes.

A perfect way to incorporate the proposal into the wedding day is to let the cake topper symbolize it. This is becoming more and more popular but remains unique to each couple. In this case, he proposed to her in front of Cinderella’s Castle at Disneyland. Using the castle as a cake topper is a great way to share the story with guests.
